      WHAT: Kinder-1st, Primary (2nd-3rd), Elementary (4th-6th), Middle School (6th- 8th) and High School (9th-12th) Time Controls: Game/30 (Thirty minutes per side per game)



      WHERE: Central Catholic Elementary, 1218 Comanche, Corpus Christi, 78401



      WHO: All students grades K through 12 currently enrolled in a Catholic School.



      COST: Free! Registration forms to be sent to Central Catholic Elementary



      REGISTRATION: Deadline to submit registrations Noon on January 29, 2010. Onsite registration will be available.


      ROUNDS: Round 1 starts at 9:30a.m. Please arrive by 8:30 to check in. The tournament will only be 4 rounds.


      FOOD: A food concession will be available. Chess equipment will also be available for sale.


      PRIZES: Trophies to the top 5 teams and individual trophies to the top 5 finishers in K-1, primary, and elementary sections, top 3 teams/top 5 individual finishers in middle school and top 2 team/ top 5 individual finishers in high school. Individual certificates will be awarded. Awards presentation as soon as the last round is completed.

        Yeah, but you have to be enrolled in a Catholic school, and if you’re dumb enough to believe in the Sky Fairy, what are you doing playing chess?

        Please note that, in the chess sets used, the Bishops will be bigger than the Kings.

        A special prize will be awarded to the game with the best sacrifice.
