Rxc5 looks good. 馃檪
… but is not!
I think it’s:
1 Ne8+. Then:
1 … Rxe8 is met by 2 Rxf7+ and 3 Qxe8#.
1 … Kg8 2 Nf6+, and now:
2 … Kg7 3 Qxf8+ Kxf8 4 Re8+ Kg7 5 Rg8#
2 … Rxf6+ 3 Qxb7 Nxb7 ( 3 … Rxf4 Rxc5 +/-) 4 Rxf6. White is the exchange up and should win the ending easily.
1 … Kh7 can be met by 2 Nf6+ transposing to the above, or even Qxf8 (I don’t think there are any useful discovered checks.

I agree.
1.Rxc5, Rxc5 2.Ne6+ Sweeps the house…
Kamalakanta
oops! I just noticed that 1.Rxc5 loses because 1…Rxc5 is a discovered check.
Kamalakanta
1. Ne8+ Kg8 2. Nf6+ Rxf6+ (2… Kg7 3. Qxf8+ Kxf8 4. Re8+ Kg7 5. Rg8#) 3. Qxb7 Nxb7 4. Rxf6 * and white wins on material.
Nice!
Ne6! seems to work. …Nxe6 Qxb7 or …Rxe6 Rxe6 and the Black Knight cannot recapture as before. If the
Black King moves then the rook on f8 is lost and probably there is a mating attack.
