I just saw this one on ChessToday.net. It is White to move. How should White proceed?

        1. f6
        followed by hxg5
        If 1. hxg5 first, instead, Black can reply 1 .. g6

well, this is what I found.Although, I had certain problems with the main line 1…gxf6, where i couldn’t figure out a clear winning line for white

        1.f6 gxf6
        2.Qe4 (threating 3.Bd3) f5
        (2…Qd7 3.hxp f5 (or NxP) 4.Qh4 wins)
        3.Qxf5 Qd7
        4.Bd3 QxQ
5.BxQ (threating 5.hxp NxP 6.f4! and white wins since Nf3+(!?) 7.Kf2 and black can’t stop white from playing Rag1# without losing a piece)
5…f6( I think this is forced)
        6.Kd2 (threating Rag1)

and I think this should be winnig for white. SomehowI think I’m missing an easier win for white somewhere down the line.

        of course,

        1….Qxf6
        2.QxN+ KxQ
3.hxp+ and white wins a piece.

        and

        1…..Nxf6
2.hxp and either black gets mated or loses a piece.

If anyone has any feedback, comment, correction, or an easier winning line on the 1….gxf6 line, please let me know.

actually, the solution just occured to me…while in the shower.

        1.f6 gxf6
        2.hxp NxP
        3.Qf5! (threating 4.f4!)

actually, there’s nothing that black can do to prevent 4.f4!

        example:

        3….Nd7
4.f4! (black can’t take with 4…pxp 5.QxN+ and black gets mated)

        f6 Nxf6
        hxg5 g6
        gxf6 Qxf6

presumptious to think gxf6 would be blacks response to f6. thats the worst move black could make.. were trying to find a strong move.. wolverine
