As always, bad translation from English by the staff of Europe-Échecs.

“Opportunité” is a rough translation of the word “opportunity”. If the chess journalists of Europe-Échecs were good writers, they would translate this very precise word by “occasion”.

But Europe-Échecs is not a French magazine, but a chess magazine, and the text of the articles is often clumsy and bad translated (One might suspect a computer-assisted translation…).

The only good thing for Europe-Échecs is he has the monopole for all the French market.

But no problems chronicle (from Alain Boyer I think, suppressed), no studies chronicle (from the specialist Alain Pallier, suppressed) no retroanalysis (from the world specialist André Hazebrouck, suppressed), no postal chess (from Mario Corinthios, suppressed), no great articles about chess history apart the chronicles of Georges Bertola…

Europe-Échecs is only interested by OTB games, and perhaps, from time to time, endgame and combinations, but it is not an interesting magazine anymore…
