Games Festival 2010, one of the largest intellectual and games sports festivals in Europe, is going to take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, 4-18 April. In the chess section of the Games Festival more than 500 participants are expected to play in the 3 tournaments: European Chess School (International School Open), European Chess Seniors, and Thessaloniki International Open (with A and B section).

The chess tournaments are hosted in the luxurious GRAND HOTEL PALACE located in the western part of the city under excellent playing conditions. The events will take place together with the 4th Bridge festival, sudoku solving, darts, etc.

The tournament will finish right before the World Championship match between Viswanathan Anand and Veselin Topalov, and being only a few hours away from Sofia is a great opportunity of combining a tournament with a chess excursion.

More details about the event at the official website or email the organizers at teotsorb@otenet.gr.
