      GM Dizdarevic and IM Plenkovic top 20th Bosnjaci Open 2015

      Chess Club “Bošnjaci” organized the 20th jubilee edition of Bosnjaci Open 2015 from 3rd to 9th January, 2015, in Bošnjaci, eastern Croatia.

      The event was sponsored by Municipality Bošnjaci, in collaboration with Croatian Chess federation, Chess federation of VS county, Sladorana d.d. Županja, VS county,“Komunalac“ Županja, “Admiral Tisak“ Cerna, Pizzeria AQUARIUS, NARCOR d.o.o. Županja and the main media sponsor „Glas Slavonije“.

      The tournament was played in a 9-round Swiss format with tempo of play 90′ + 30″ and prize fund in the amount of 5.000 €.

      135 players from 5 different countries took part in the event, including 5 GMs, 7 IMs, 14 FMs and 1 WIM.

      GM Emir Dizdarevic (BIH) and IM Zdenko Plenkovic (CRO) tied for the first with 7,5/9 points, but Dizdarevic prevailed on a better tie-break score and lifted the trophy for second year in a row.

      The third place was shared in a four-way by Goran Vajic (BIH), IM Rudolf Sertic (CRO), FM Pero Ascic (CRO) andJosip Stocko (CRO) on 7 points each. You can see the full standings below.
