      GM Igor Kovalenko goes for two-peat in Zalakaros Chess Festival

      The 34th Zalakaros Chess Festival was held from 14-22nd May, 2015, in Zalakaros, a town in Hungary, famous for its thermal bath.

      The event was organized by the Hungarian Chess Federation and Zalakaros city, under the patronage of Dr. Miklós Seszták, President of the Hungarian Chess Federation, and Mr. Ferenc Novák, Mayor of Zalakaros.

      Latvian player GM Igor Kovalenko goes for two-peat by winning the 34th Zalakaros Chess Festival.

      Kovalenko scored 7/9 points to take the first prize in the amount of 1,400,000 HUF.

      Second place was shared in a four-way tie by GM Avital Boruchovsky (Israel), GM Markus Ragger (Austria), GM B. Adhiban (India) and GM Adam Horvath (Hungary), after the whole group finished the event with 6,5 points.
