GM norm for FM Zierk at World Youth

      Steven Zierk, World Youth Championship

Norms after round 10 of the WYCC

FM Steven Zierk (USA) (interview with him here, here, and after R10 here), currently sharing the top position in the Open U18 section, made a GM norm! He previously covered an IM norm in round 9, but after the victory in Round 10 has increased it to GM norm. His norm is confirmed and does not depend on the result in the last round.

Two more players have achieved norms after round 10 of the World Youth Chess Championship – Anwesh Upadhyaya (IND) IM norm in the boys U18 section and FM Lanita Stetsko (BLR) WIM norm in the girls U18 section.

Follow the last round games here

FM Angel Arribas Lopez (ESP), FM Pouya Idani (IRI), FM Ayaz Arzu Mammadov (AZE), Kambez Nuri (SUI), Vladimir Belous (RUS), and FM Koohestani (IRI) have their IM norms since round 9, while Anastasiya Rakhmangulova (UKR), Zoi Iordanidou (GRE), and WFM Klaudia Kulon (POL) covered WIM norms in the Girls U18 section, and Anja Schulz (GER) covered a WIM norm in the Girls U16 section.

Does that mean that he now has both an IM and an GM norm, or only a GM norm?
