New Year’s gift from ACP and FIDE – Veteran’s support programme 2015
      Author: Ootes, Lennart

      Date: 1 January 2015

New Year’s gift from ACP and FIDE – the veteran’s support programme that was successfully launched in 2014 was extended, and six more chess legends will get a 5,000 USD award in January 2015. The awardees are:

      Yuri Balashov (Russia)
      Valentina Kozlovskaya (Russia)
      Gennady Kuzmin (Ukraine)
      William Lombardy (USA)
      Mihai Suba (Romania)
      Jacob Murey (Israel)

On behalf of the ACP and entire chess community, I’d like to thank FIDE for the cooperation and we are looking forward to expanding this much-needed programme in the future.
