      Hales Corners Challenge, Milwaukee, Wisconsin



      “Hales Corners Challenge XI” – near Milwaukee

      We are holding our semi-annual USCF Grand Prix tournament on Saturday, April 17, near Milwaukee, WI.

      We have a nice new location at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport Hotel: 6401 S. 13th Street). We hope you will consider attending this major regional event, which is a part of the USCF Grand Prix (10 Grand Prix points), and is also a Wisconsin Chess Association Tour event.

      Some highlights:



      1. We already have the following among our list of 45 pre-registered players:



      NM Erik Santarius 2323

      FM Alex Betaneli 2315

      NM Steve Tennant 2236

      NM Bill Williams 2200

      NM Jeff Cooper 2200

      and other masters have indicated they are likely attending.



      2. Goddesschess.com has again generously donated cash prizes* for “best results by female players” (see details below). So far, we have 7 chess femmes, or a record-breaking 16% of pre-registered players!



      3. Life Master Sheldon Gelbart will be on hand throughout the tournament to analyze games for tournament participants.



      4. The North American Chess Association is generously donating eNotate electronic scoresheets (PDA and software) to the top-finishing K-8 player in each section with a plus score.



      * The Goddesschess prizes are as follows:

      up to $245 for Best Results by female chess players:



      For Female Players in the Open Section:

      1 woman – no cash prize

      2 women – one prize of $45

      3 women – two prizes of $45 and $40

      4 women – three prizes of $50, $45, $40

      5 or more women – four prizes of $55, $50, $45, $40

      Top finishing female – paid entry for Challenge XII when registration confirmed

      For Female Players in the Reserve Section:

      1st –$30

      2nd –$25

      Top finishing female – paid entry for Challenge XII when registration confirmed
