      Estonia’s Chess Academy to be named after Tigran V. Petrosian

      Chess Academy of Estonian capital city of Tallinn has been named after ninth world chess champion, Grand Master Tigran V. Petrosian, a spokesperson to Armenia’s Chess Federation told journalists.

        What’s interesting about the picture is Fischer’s face. The game hasn’t even started yet, but he seems in extraordinarily deep thought.

        Estonia named its academy after Petrosian? This makes no sense to me. Why wouldn’t they name it after one of their own citizens, the great Paul Keres?

        that picture is from before the first game of the 1970 USSR vs the rest of the world match. Maybe Petrosian should have been concentrating, too!

        I recall reading somewhere that Petrosian loved photography. It explains his awareness of the camera. I remember a photo in which he is taking pictures of young Kasparov.
