        hmm, since the question was phrased as being about the animals themselves rather than human language I dismissed naming relationships. One conceivable answer is that all have vegetarian diets. I see this is only true for fireflies when they are adult, however.

        A jack rabbit sure looks like a rabbit to me. And why is a firefly not a fly? A fruitfly is still a fly, so why not a firefly?
