      Humpy chasing 3 ELO points

Chiburdanidze, Dubai Open, Humpy, Zhu Chen

This is the legendary GM Maia Chiburdanidze

With one round to go, Humpy Koneru is the leader among women in the 2007 Dubai Open. Her appearance in this event has received a lot of International attention because she is chasing the #2 highest rating of all time among women. She needs to gain 3 rating points. So far, her performance is at 2537 and her rating is 2575.

I am sure that she will break it very soon. I have said long ago that she will break 2600. She has the ability and the diligence to accomplish this. I wish her all the best for a long and successful career!

Below are the standings of the top 3 women in the event:

Current standing – Title – Name – Current rating – Country – Score – Performance rating

      14 GM Koneru Humpy 2575 IND 5.5 2537

      36 GM Chiburdanidze Maia 2510 GEO 5.0 2380

      37 GM Zhu Chen 2531 QAT 5.0 2354

        Humpy is very talented!
But does she ever even gets a chance to win some points?!?
Among women competitions, most opponents are rated 200 points below her! She must be really careful not to lose to many points!!!

She should join men’s league soon! Like Judit 🙂

Humpy is too good to stay in women only chess!
