Exhibition events with Hikaru Nakamura and Sergei Movsesian
International Chess Festival under the patronage of Dr. Miroslav Číž will take place from 10th July to 18th July 2010 in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia. The organisers are Town Banská Štiavnica, Slovak Chess Federation and Chessclub Banská Štiavnica.
The Festival consists of International Chess Championship of Slovakia (in three groups), A.Pituk’s Memorial (Chess solving), Štiavnica Bughouse Championship, Štiavnica Blitz Championship and exhibition events with participation of top U.S. and Slovakian players – Hikaru Nakamura and Sergei Movsesian.
The main A Group of the International Chess Championship of Slovakia will be played over 9 rounds of Swiss system with accelerated pairings. Playing tempo is 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 second bonus, then 30 minutes + 30 seconds for game. The top placed local players will be crowned as Slovakian men and women champions. Total price fund is 6000 EUR.
Exhibition events will include two-games match between GM Hikaru Nakamura (World champion in Chess960) and GM Sergei Movsesian (3rd place in Chess960 World championship) in Fischer Random Chess and two-games blitz match, on 16th July 2010, at the public square in front of Cinema “Akademik”.In addition, the two players will offer a simul on 16th July 2010 at 21:00, and blindfold game with live chessmen on 17th July 2010 at 21:00.
