      Iowa Open

      Chess tournament, Iowa

      Hello Fellow Chess Player,

Registration has been fast and furious. We are at 111 entries so far. We need to get to 150? Can you help us do that? You can still sign up online (go to https://www.onlineregistration.cc/ and select either the Iowa Open (includes Reserve and RBO sections) and or Iowa Quick Championship and sign up that way.) or at the door on Friday or Saturday. This is one of Iowa’s best Chess Events! Come be a part of it!

Here is a link to register at the Marriott Hotel: http://www.marriott.com/Chess; rates go up at midnight tonight!!

The site for the tournament is nice location right off of Interstate 80 (NE side of exit 242). This is 3.5 hours from Chicago, 5 hours from Minneapolis and Kansas City, 4 hours from St. Louis, and 4.5 hours from Omaha and Milwaukee. The hotel has a nice pool and restaurant. Iowa City and Coralville have many things for the family to do including a large mall located only 5 minutes away from the hotel.

International Master’s Angelo Young and Michael Brooks have already committed to playing. 2011World Champion 8/Under Awonder Liang the now 10 year-old sensation (rating 2273) has committed to play as well. Come take a shot at beating a World Champion or an IM. It won’t be easy.

TWO Chess Vendors on Site Saturday!

Bill Broich and I will be the head TDs for this event. If you or anybody you talk to have questions please do not hesitate to call or email. An answering machine is available when I am not.

      Best Regards,
      Mark Capron
