If it is a politically motivated move , logic says he has great chances of beating the record to be honest .

But if it is a genuine sporting attempt , my best wish of good luck to him , it is an amazing challenge to take so many and win 80% of games , i hope it will be fair and the governement will not try to “get a result” because of the political rivalry with Iran

I remember I met GM Alik Gershon in the past. I am surprised but happy he is doing this. I look at it as a great way to promote the game we love in Israel. But I am adding: No more war no more bloodshed.

By the way, GM Gershon is one of the kindest Israeli grandmasters I had met. He is a sweet person …but probably lethal on the chess board. I am scared to play him.

“No more war no more bloodshed.”

Tell that to the crazy Mujaheddin who believe killing Jews gets them into heaven.

Israel will thrive until the time has met it’s limit according to the prophet Daniel. When this happens, all enemies of Israel will be no more and Damascus will be a burning heap of ruins. Not my words, it is in the book of Daniel.

Damascus has never been destroyed during the history of Syria so this is clearly a future event yet to happen.
