      Chess Blunders, Chess Today

I just saw this puzzle on Chess Today. Black to move. This game is from the currently on going Merida tournament in Spain. According to Chess Today, Black is slightly better with either 22…Qd6 or 22…Qd8. However, Black played 22…Qxb6 and then resigned instantly.

        23. Rc8, black has to capture the Rook to avoid mate, thus left the queen unprotected.

Sigh…some of us (me) will never be chess players. I looked, and looked, and looked, but didn’t see the continuation until ali pointed it out.

You are a chess player, all right. You just happen to have had a blind spot today.

        I did that once.
