      The 2009 edition of the Hoogeveen chess tournament will take place October 16 – 24 in Netherlands. Top seeded is the Ukraininan star GM Vassily Ivanchuk, who will skip ETCC 2009.

      GM Judit Polgar is the top rated female player and the Crown group is completed by GM Tiviakov and GM Anish Giri.

      The tournament is a double round robin and will have the same rules as previous years.

        Good break for Anish Giri, being given the chance to play the elite players so soon. Hope Wesley So also gets opportunities like these.

        Susan, if my lil sister beats Ivanchuk im gunna order her some Chocolate Ice Cream, from Russia! hehe. Kasparov and the boys!! haha. Im checkin out Vinke-Friedel live, Germans studying “transboard knight”, Susan, whats happening i thought the Blackies didnt know anything about chess? Why is Vinke “seeking a new way forward”? They funny!!!

        Does anyone know when Judit is going to play again, I am not in Holland this time and as far as I know she does not play the Corus tournament in january 2010?
