How does he tie for 3rd if he also has 7.5 points?

Susan , you goofed. This is a screwy tourney where after 9 rounds they start a playoff for first.

The top four players with 7 points went into a playoff for first.

Gata was in the next group half a point behind at 6 1/2.

Gata won his final game to finish with 7 1/2

At best you could say Kamsky tied for third. or fifth.

BTW Lendeman also finished with 7 1/2

        Hi Susan,

It looks like Alex Lenderman should be able to pick up an insurance GM norm for his performance at Gibraltar. I know that FIDE was looking into one of his GM norms and he hadn’t been awarded the GM title yet so if he picks up a norm here he should be awarded the GM title soon.
