      Karen Grigoryan takes first prize at Blitz tournament in Rochefort

      YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian chess players continue the excellent performance at the tournament-festival that is being held in Rochefort, France. The Chess Federation of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that IM Karen Grigoryan and GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan have scored 6 points each out of 8 before the last round of the tournament that is being held in Rochefort, France. They are half a point behind the leader – GM Davit Jojua (Georgia). 

      By the tie-break Grigoryan is taking the 2nd, Ter-Sahakyan – the 4th places. GM Vlad-Cristian Jianu (Romania) also has 6 points. Today in the last round Ter-Sahakyan will play with blacks against Jojua and Grigoryan – against Jianu.

      Among other things the Armenian Chess Federation stated that IM Karen Grigoryan had no defeat, scored 9,5 points out of 11 and solely took the first prize at the blitz tournament that was held within the framework of the festival in Rochefort.

      Armenian chess players Sargis V. Manukyan and Armine Babayan have scored 2,5 points each after 3 rounds at the open that is being held in Mashhad. Iran. They are half a point behind the leaders.
