      Karpov starts the psychological fight with Kasparov

      Karpov began the psychological fight with Kasparov for their match in Valencia several days before the first games. He appeared on Valencian TV and stated that, “I have almost all types of records in chess history, I won the most number of tournaments, matches […] and Kasparov is number 2 in this way”

        I`m almost sure that Karpov in this match against Kasparov will lose all the games. Maybe a draw or to at most.
        Maybe later Karpov return to the local tv in Valencia to explaining this new record…

        The first test of strength will be to compare their results in today’s (Monday’s) simultaneous matches, which apparently take place at the same time.

        Strangely enough, I cannot find anything on this — not even on Susan Polgar’s otherwise excellent blog.

        Anyone know?
