Keen eyes for the not so obvious Chess tactic, Puzzle Solving White to move. How do you assess this position? How should White proceed? 8/4rk1p/1R2n1p1/pB2np2/5N2/2P2P2/1P4K1/8 w – – 0 1 Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Nd5 Ra7
Be8+ KxB
RxN+
how would that help? Re7 and save
i like 1. Bc4
1. Nd5 Ra7
2. Be8+ KxB
3. RxN+
3…… Re7?
4. Rxe7+ followed by 5. Rxe5
and the King cannot capture the Rook on e7, because it is protected by the Knight on d5.
1.Bxc4? Nxc4.
Instead of 1…Ra7, Black could try 1.Nd5 Nc7 2.Nxe7 Kxe7. White has an edge, I don’t see anything decisive.
I already saw, this one here, i am wrong Susan ?.
Yeah,
It seems that 1.Nd5! wins for white.
Ex:
1.Nd5 Nd7 (1…Ra7 2.Be8+ KxR 3.RxN+ wins a piece for white)
2.Rd6 wins.
We all agree that White wins after 1.Nd5 Ra7 or 1…Nd7. But where’s the win after 1…Nc7? Or 1…h5? Or even 1…Nc5?
To be sure, White has an advantage, but is it enough to win?
1. Nd5 Nc5 and then what?
