      Kiril Georgiev takes clear first in Open Karposh 2012

      Municipality of Karposh and Chess Club Gambit Aseko-See organized the Open Karposh 2012 from 7th to 14th April in Skopje, FYR Macedonia.

      The 9-round Swiss open featured the prize fund of 17500 EUR: 1) 3500 EUR, 2) 2500 EUR, 3) 1500 EUR, 4) 1200 EUR, 5) 1000 EUR, 6) 800 EUR, 7) 700 EUR, 8) 600 EUR etc

      GM Kiril Georgiev took a clear first place with 7.5 points in the field that featured 31 Grandmasters and 22 International Masters.

      Top seed Ferenc Berkes, three-times Bulgarian champion Boris Chatalbashev and reigning Turkish champion Dragan Solak shared the 2nd place with 7 points each.

      CM Cankut Emiroglu from Turkey finished as best place junior with 6 points.

      147 players from 16 federations took part in the tournament.
