I think the last game was a courtesy gift.

Actually by rating difference (116 points) Kramnik’s expectation was 5.28/8, so his 5.5/8 was as close as you could get to the expected score so it was nothing unusual. If this is demolishing then it is because of a mismatch rating wise for which this result could have been predicted.

This was a joke of a match. Kramnik should be focusing on Anand and not some two-bit GM.

I’m sure Kramnik could have played blindfold and drunk and beaten Navara.

I bet the Czech sponsors of this match are waiting to get Navara in closed quarters to beat the crap out of him for embarassing the Czech Republic.

Anonymous is right and the score is as close to the expected score as was possible, so it’s hardly a smashing win for Kramnik.

If anyone “won” here it is surely Navara as he got to play 8 games against one of the top players in the world, and that can hardly do anything but help his game.

Given the respective ratings his performance was perfectly respectable.

Reminds of the drubbing in similar fashion of Nisipeanu by Topalov, albeit in four games.

Elo 2700+ is truly magical. The game results speak for themselves
