      Miguel Najdorf International Chess Festival 2014

      Najdorf, Warsaw


      The 2014 edition of Miguel Najdorf International Chess Festival is taking place from 14th to 20th July 2014, at the Palace of Culture and Science in the Polish capital Warsaw.

      The event is organized by gen. Kazimierz Sosnkowski Chess Foundation, in co-operation with the Polish Chess Federation, under the auspices of the President of Warsaw Ms Hanna Gonkiewicz-Waltz.

      The event is split into 4 tournaments
      – Open A – for players rated over 2200
      – Open B – for players rated 1600-2199
      – Open C – for players below 1600 and unrated
      – Open D – tournament of chess prodigies, open to children born 2004 and later

      The main sponsor of the tournament MetLife provides the hefty prize fund in the amount of 30.000 €. The top prizes in Section A are as follows: 5.000 €/ 3.000 €/ 2.000 €/ 1.500 €/ 1.000 €/ 900 €/ 850 €/ 800 €/ 750 €/ 700 €.
