I was looking at 1. Qxd1 b1Q 2. Ra7+ Kf8! 3. Qd7 Qe8 4. Qd6+ Kg7 when black is winning.
I think this might be the solution 1. Rb5 Qxb5 ( 1…… Rxb1 2. Rxb8 +-) 2. Qxd1 Qb8 ( 1…… b1Q 2. Qd6+! Ke8 3. axb5 Qxb5 +-) 3. Qb1 and after a5 – a6 – a7, black has to exchange his ‘b’ pawn for white’s ‘a’ pawn. White also has Bxc4 coming. White should win.
Venky, thank you so much for letting us know that you are not going to answer since you have already answered. I was really worried that you were not participating because of being mad or something. I would not want to see that, you can be sure.
Dear “thank you Venky” whoever you are it is harsh on Venky. Venky as usual is jolly and joking and making us laugh. He does not have aspirations on anybody. Now I expect from him a reply which will be funny with no ill feelings.
I strongly agree with professor Bhat. If you want to have fun with Venky, just read his comments. To have fun with is not to make fun of.
All in all, you’re not fun.
Erudite note: “avatar” in India is much more important than the Internet meaning of this word… And they are not disposable! Venky and professor Bhat will confirm!
Thank you for telling “thank you Venky” that he was too harsh on poor Venky. Without you, I am sure that Venky would get mad or something and stop telling us that he is not submitting an answer because he already did.
Ra7+ Qxa7 Qxd1 and white wins 🙂
I was looking at
1. Qxd1 b1Q
2. Ra7+ Kf8!
3. Qd7 Qe8
4. Qd6+ Kg7 when black is winning.
I think this might be the solution
1. Rb5 Qxb5
( 1…… Rxb1
2. Rxb8 +-)
2. Qxd1 Qb8
( 1…… b1Q
2. Qd6+! Ke8
3. axb5 Qxb5 +-)
3. Qb1 and after a5 – a6 – a7, black has to exchange his ‘b’ pawn for white’s ‘a’ pawn. White also has Bxc4 coming. White should win.
I missed
1. Rb5 Qd8!
2. Qxb2 Qd3!
The simple
1. Ra7+! Kf8
2. Ra8! should win.
The correct move for white would be;
1.Qxd1 b8
2.Qf3 Qxe5
3.Ra7+ Kd6
4.Qxf7….
And black is locked in a position that would not avoid a mate in 2 or 3 moves more.
Hi Susan Polgar,
Its a repeated post – So I abstain from giving,my moves for this puzzle,as I had already given it,when it was posted first.
