We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Polgar Chess Center with two of the Polgar sisters, Susan and Sofia. In spite of the horrendous weather with heavy rain, wind and flooding, more than 100 people so far showed up for the celebration and it will continue until 7 PM tonight. Thanks to our generous sponsor Jeff Smith, each young participant receives a Polgar Chess Bag, Chess Set, Chess Board, Chess Book, Score Pad, etc. (over $50 value)! Oh, and there are also plenty of food and refreshment for everyone! Not even Mother nature can stop the festivities today!

Oh, Mother Nature is being nasty to the U.S.A. these past few weeks! About 10 days ago I was sitting on my deck enjoying 80 degrees and sunshine; 2 days ago we got 7 inches of icy slush and snow dumped on us! Congratulations on 10 years of the Susan Polgar Chess Center, I think it’s fantastic. A cold monsoon and threats of floods won’t keep the New Yorkers away!
