I love chess and it pains me to see so many problems with the USCF in recent years. I would like to change that.
The current state of our federation is not healthy! Sponsors do not want to deal with us. Supporters are tired of our internal political destruction. Some board members have violated the USCF code of ethics as well as the members’ trust.
Here are some of my areas of focus for the USCF:
– Restore respectability, integrity, credibility and professionalism to the USCF.
– Re-establish a sound and balanced budget.
– Develop strong cooperation and support for adult, scholastic, collegiate, correspondence and military chess.
– Establish a strong professional marketing and PR system.
– End the petty and destructive politics.

If you are elected I will finally join the USCF. I like your devotion and all of what you do to promote chess.
On april 22th, in France, we shall have to choose a new President
between two main candidates : N. Sarkozy (origin Nagybocsa/HUNGARY) an a WOMAN S.Royal, but we have no politician with both qualities 🙂

If these are dynamic statements, I’d hate to see what the non-dynamic ones look like. I will vote for you despite your lack of command of the English language.Let’s hope it’s not a writing contest!

BTW last year I knew nothing about USCF affairs or who that guy really was. I just read his statement and thought, “I hope he gets elected.” This year, I’ve read Susan’s blog so now I know better. But lots of people still won’t. And he’s produced yet another dynamic statement.
The problem is the voters are making decisions solely on the basis of these statements and not finding out more about who the people behind them are. That’s why Mr. Convicted Felon got in. I think sometimes voters get who they deserve. It’s up to them to prove they deserve someone better.
And it wouldn’t hurt to change a few rules–like prohibiting felons from serving on the board.
my lolipop comment was deleted, but it had a valid point to it, its easy to say the uscf is a mess and youre going to restore respect to it. You could also add in i love babies and the circus, but well wishes dont accomplish anything. for the longest time its been “soon i will say exactly what i will do” blah blah cmon give us something.
Sam Sloan is a nut, but he’s a nut who is predictable. People like to actually know how something is going to be done, not just what you “hope” to get done

Chess hasn’t had someone in chess politics who really loves the game and is totally dedicated to it since Max Euwe.
So much needs reform. You and your team are the ones to do it!
