      Nakhbayeva is four-times Kazakhstan women’s champion

      Kazakhstan, National Championship, Women's Chess


      The 2014 Kazakhstan Chess Championships for women was held from 3rd to 12th May, 2014 in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.

      28 players, including 3 WGMs, 4 WIMs and 2 WFMs, competed in the 9 round Swiss event.

      The top seed WGM Guliskhan Nakhbayeva lifted the trophy with the convincing score 7.5/9 points, leaving the nearest followers a full point behind. Thus, Nakhbayeva became Kazakhstani champion for women four times in a row.

      Second place was shared in a 3-way tie by WIM Madina Davletbayeva, WGM Flyura Khasanova and WIM Gulmira Dauletova with 6.5/9 points each. WIM Davletbayeva took the silver due to her superb tie-break score.
