      VietNamNet Bridge – Ten of the top Vietnamese chess players are participating in the Chess Olympiad 2008 in Germany, which started on November 12.

      Vietnam sent its best players to the 38th tournament, including Dao Thien Hai, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Quang Liem, Tu Hoang Thong, Nguyen Van Huy (men) and Le Kieu Thien Kim, Le Thanh Tu, Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Dang Bich Ngoc, and Pham Le Thao Nguyen (women).

      In 2006, Vietnam’s women’s chess team ranked 15th and the men’s team ranked 39th. Based on the results, this year the Vietnamese women’s team is the 24th seed team and the men’s team is the 37th.

      The tournament, organized by the International Chess Confederation and which attracts 152 countries and territories, will finish on November 25.
