      1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.0-0 b5 6.Bb3 Bc5 7.a4 Rb8 8.c3 d6 9.d4 Bb6 10.axb5 axb5 11.Qd3 Bd7 12.Na3 0-0 13.Bg5 h6 14.Bh4 Qe7 15.Rfe1 Bg4 16.Qxb5 Bxf3 17.Qxc6 g5 18.Bg3 Bg4 19.Qc4 Be6 20.d5 Bd7 21.Ba4 Bxa4 22.Qxa4 h5 23.h3 h4 24.Bh2 g4 25.Kh1 Bxf2 26.Re2 g3 27.Qd1 Bb6 28.Bg1 Bxg1 29.Kxg1 Nh5 30.Nc4 Ra8 31.Re1 Here, 31.Ne3 is a must to occupy the f5 square and not allowing Black to play f5.

Qg5 32.Qf3 Rxa1 33.Rxa1 f5 Black is better. White mishandled the position earlier.

34.exf5 Qxf5 35.Qxf5 Rxf5 36.Ne3 Rf2 Black is completely winning! Negi was short on time and did not find the best defense.

37.Ra8+ Kg7 38.Ra7 and now 38…Re2 and it is over for White.

38…Re2 39.Rxb7+ Kg6 40.Nf1 The only thing that White can hope for is Black will somehow blunder. There is no defense against 40…Nf4

40…Nf4 41.Rc8 Rxg2 42.Kh1 Rf2 Much stronger would have been Kf7 not to allow the check from the back. This still wins comfortably.

      43.Nxg3 hxg3 44.Rg8+ Kf5 45.Rxg3 Rxb2 0-1

The score is Lahno 1.5 – Negi 0.5

Ditto! This site is amazing! Probably the best blog on the web – and I’m including the famous Daily Kos and Instapundant. Now if only we could call up past posts by category.

When I looked at their growth curves and curent ratings, I could see a realatively easy Negi win. But she is 17 and experienced. He is 13, after all. I would guess that his handlers will have their hands full! He could probably use someone like Susan right now.

I’m glad that extraordinary talented sweet 16-year old girl outplayed overrated 15-year boy.

So far negi has plyed poorly in both the games. In first game he saved defeat after hard work, and in second he could had a draw. But poor play made him lose. Hope he will play a bit more imaginately, and surprise Katy with some opening prep. In both these games, it was Lahno who deviated from the theory first.
