Where’s Topalov? Where Nakamura? Where’s Fabiano?

Topalov will play a match against the winner of the World Cup.
(Hi, from Mr. Karpov from 1997/98)
Nakamura and Caruana are not qualified, there are still 5 presidents spots.

It is rediculous to seed Topalov into the final. It is totally unfair. There is not valid reason to do this.

Finally Ivanchuk will get a chance.

        Magnus is on the list.

i don’t understand. is it just the 8 top guns in the list who is vying for world champion or is it everyone in that list? how does carlsen get to qualify?

It seems overly complex. Why not take the 120 highest fide rated players who played enough games recently.

It really should take only the top 8 in elimination matches. The WC is about being the best. So take the top 8 since obviously on average they are the best.

Ok so does this mean Kramnik is in? What did you mean by replaced? I guess he should, he’s the existing champion. However, I’m not very sure about theWorld Championship format. How many players will play? Are the games knock-out or swiss? What are the time controls?

I hope FIDE invite Bareev and Rublevsky as President nominees, because they managed to beat J. Polgar and Ponomariov at the Candidates Matches only two months ago. IMO, if J. Polgar and Ponomariov are in the World Cup, even Bareev and Rublevsky should be in.

During the technical meeting in Elista, a FIDE Vice President mroe or less promissed all candidates a spot in the World Cup indicating that the FIDE President would use his spots.

“The WC is about being the best.”

There is only one best, it’s Kramnik. All others can be better than another on every tournament, there is no second best. Just check how many top and bottom places all get. The abbreviation WC should be changed, either for chess, or for the toilet, by the way.
