      One of the top seeds out in Nalchik

      Nalchik, Shen Yang, Women's World Championship, Zhao Xue


      One of China’s best players and former World Girl’s Champion GM-elect Zhao Xue (2522) has been knocked out by a fellow Chinese young star Shen Yang (2445). Shen Yang won the first game and held on for a draw in a pawn down opposite color Bishop endgame. This is the highest seed to fall so far.

        unless you consier rapid “blitz” or sorts. 🙂
