When just everything looks impossible, I will as allways look for a sack giving direct attack: 1. Rxg7+ Kxg7 (Kh8 Qxh6+ Qh7 Qxh7#) 2. Qf6+ Kh7/Kg8 3. Qf7+ Kh8 4. Qxe8+ Kh7/Kg7 5. Rf7+! Kg6 6. Qg8# Not too difficult to find, since it was only alternative to resigning. If it hadn’t worked, nothing had worked.
Not so difficult, since problem solving is completely forced after the initial sacrifice 1. Rxg7+ !! 1. …, Kxg7 2. Qf6+, Kh7 3. Qf7+, Kh8 4. Qxe8+, Kg7 5. Rf7+, Kg6 6. Qg8 checkmate.
Any reason to not look at Rg7 first?
1. Rg7 Kg7 (Kh8 2.Qh6 Qh7 3.Qh7#)
2. Qf6 Kh7
Here, Kg8 loses: [2. …Kg8 3.Qf7 Kh8 4.Qe8 Kg7/h7 5.Qe7 Kg6 (or 5. …Kg8/h8 6.Rf8#) 6.Qf7#]. Continuing:
3. Qf7 and we have already seen the rest in the note describing the 2. …Kg8.
Rxgk, kxg7, Qxf6, kg8, Qf7+, kh8, Qxe8+, kg7 or h7,Rf7+, kg6, Rf2 followed by RxQ
Rxg7+, Kxg7, Qf6+, Kg8, Qf7+, Kh8, Qxd8+, Kg7 or Kh7, Rf7+, Kg6, Rf2+, followed by RxQ

2. Qf6+ Kh7/g8

6. Rf6++

6. Rf8++
Grindmaster Lenya Gristmilli offers evidence that her gray matter was not grilled earlier in the day by working too hard on the Rook and Pawn ending:
1. Rg7+ Kxg7 or [1. … Kh8 2. Qxh6+ Qh7 3. Qxh7#]
2. Qf6+ Kh7 or [2. … Kg8 3. Qf7+ Kh8 4. Qxe8+ Kg7

5. Rf7+ Kg6 6. Qg8#]
