      Pedro Alejandro Jimenez wins Badalona Open 2012

      The 38th City of Badalona International Open was played between 1th and 9th August 2012 at the Civic Center La Salut, Av Marques de Sant Mori s / n. Badalona (Barcelona).

      The tournament was part of the 9th Catalan International Open Circuit, organized by the Catalan Chess Federation, with category A in the general classification and special category in the classification by stages.

      The Cuban FM Pedro Alejandro Jimenez was the surprising winner of the tournament. Jimenez took the top prize of 1000 Euros, plus a gift painting, after beating a series of strong Grandmasters who participated.

      The representative of India, MR Lalith Babu GM took the second place, while the U.S. FM Keaton Kiewra took the third place.
