I made a mistake with the numbering of the moves in my previous post.
        Corrected version:

        1. Rg8+ Kxg8 (forced)
        2. Qg5+
        If
        2…Kh7
        3. Qg7 mate
        If
        2…Kf8
        3. Qg7+ Ke8
        4. Qg8 mate

        3. Qg7+ Ke8
        4. Qg8#

Ever since this blog moved from blogspot.in to chessdailynews.com, regulars like Yancey Ward and pht seem to have disappeared. Only Prof. Bhatt remains active. The number of users posting solutions to the puzzles has dropped to 1 or 2.

I really only comment when the puzzle is one I haven’t seen before (rarer and rarer these days), or there is major disagreement about the solution. It really has nothing to do with the new format.

        Yancey,
What about the 10 seconds puzzle on April 20 ? I am not sure about my own solution.Simply stealing a P in the middle game with slightly better chances does not constitute the tactical aspect of the solution

Is it necessary to sacrifice the rook? What about:

        1. Qh6+ Ke8 forced
        2. Rg8 mate

the rook on h1 will simply take your queen,
