      Rainer Buhmann claims Tschaturanga Open 2014

      Tschaturanga Open, Vienna


      The Tschaturanga Open 2014 was held from 5th to 11th May, 2014 at Cafe Schönbrunn, in Vienna, Austria, in a 7 round Swiss Open format with total prize fund of 1600 €.

      The top seeded GM Rainer Buhmann from Germany, the European Team champion from ETCC 2011, emerged clear first with 6.5/7 points, half a point ahead of the runner-up.

      IM Siegfried Baumegger from Austria took second place with 6/7 points, while the bronze was shared in a 3-way tie by the local IM Khaled Mahdy, GM Andrei Kovalev from Belarus and Robin Jacobi from Germany with 5.5/7 points each.
