The Rd8+ motive invites to sacking, but where? Probably more than one piece…
Logical to start with the knight, it has to be enforcing:

        1. Nb6+! axb6 (only legal move)

I had to look twice at this move before making it work:-)

        2. Qc7+! Nxc7 (still only legal move)
        3. Rd8#

        Could also be:

        1. Qc7+ Nxc7
        2. Nb6+ axb6/Kb8
        3. Rd8#

        Very elegant.

Sorry about the logical shortcut in my first post: “logical to start with the knight…”
To start with the knight is of course impossible here, black will take queen with king on move #2.
The one and only solution is:

        1. Qc7+ Nxc7
        2. Nb6+ axb6/Kb8
        3. Rd8#

        After finding 1. Qc7+ N:c7 2. Nb6+ and 3. Rd8#, I went and found this game in my database. It’s quite a remarkable game.
