      Robson breaks 2600

      2600, Ray Robson

After his magnificent performance at the NA FIDE Invitational, Ray’s rating (uscf) is now at 2601.

His FIDE rating was at 2527 prior to this event. He gained quite a bit more from this one. He will have a chance to earn his final norm and GM title at the SPICE Cup in 3 weeks.

Impressive. Will he play in the A group next year?

Are you sure ? There seems to be something wrong with your calculations. 7/9 in one tournament shouldn’t lead to 74 points rating increase.

This is a confusing report. The 2601 is USCF rating, which should not be compared to his previous 2527 live FIDE rating because these two are computed differently. USCF scores are generally 50-100 pts higher than FIDE’s.

What’s not clear. She separated them clearly.

The confusing part is why Internet Jackasses continue to harrass Susan Polgar blogs.

Why can’t these people discover a woodchipper and dive into one?

USCF ratings are very nice. Why are not they instead of 2601 like 26001? The bigger number can attract sponsors more. Having 2,601 dollars is nothing.

My comment was an honest one. I’m sure many readers had the misimpression that Ray’s rating actually jumped by so much after his NA win. The first 2 anonymous posts reflect that. I will apologize to Susan if she thought, at any moment, that my comment was meant to harass in any way.

        Confusious, be quiet already.

You live up to your name Confused.

        Apologize to Susan immediately.

And to us for being an annoying arse.
