      Rochester Interscholastic Chess League results

      The Rochester Interscholastic Chess League started the 2012-13 season with pair of meets.

      Wilson Foundation Academy hosted League 4 schools on Oct. 23 where The Harley School beat Webster Thomas, 40-0. Meghesh Pansari and Miki Shi took the top two boards for Harley.

      Wilson Foundation Academy beat its high school counterpart, Wilson Commencement Academy, 53.5-3.5, as Webster Kehoe and Connor Wager won on the top boards.

      Harley beat Wilson HS, 57-0, as Meghesh Pansari captured top honors.

      Webster Kehoe’s board one win led Wilson MS over Webster Thomas, 40-0.

      League 2 schools met at McQuaid on Oct. 24 where Matan Presburg’s checkmate win helped SOTA defeat Spencerport, 32-8. Matt Tyler won on board three for Spencerport.

      Rush-Henrietta got checkmate wins from Brian Lloyd and Brannon Henderson in a tight 32-25 win over McQuaid. Luke Soliman won on board three to lead McQuaid.

      Greece Arcadia swept all five boards via checkmate in a 40-0 win over All-City. Josh Hovey and Mike VanAuker won on the top two boards.

      Pat McConeghy won on board two to lead McQuaid over All-City, 36-21. Melanie Diaz won on board four for All-City.

      Arcadia beat SOTA, 30-10, led by Mike VanAuker’s board two win. SOTA’s Matan Presberg captured board one when his opponent’s 30 minutes ran out.

      Brian Lloyd and Brannon Henderson won on the top two boards in R-H’s 40-0 win over Spencerport.
