      Romanian team championship “Superliga” concluded

      Romania, Team chess


      AEM Luxten Timisoara, with Volokitin Andrei on board 1 and some of the best romanian GMs on the other boards, won the Romanian team championship “Superliga”. The competition was held between 31th of August and 8th of September 2013 in Mamaia, at the romanian seaside. The winners, defeated only only in one round gained 16 match points and 37,5 game points to win the gold medal.

      The silver medal was awarded to CSM Baia Mare with 15 match points and 36,5 game points, while bronze was awarded to ACS Apa Nova Bucuresti with 13 match points and 30,5 game points.

      In the women section of the “Superliga” Politehnica-Antibiotice Iasi won the gold medal with a great performance (+8, =1, -0 – 17 match points and 28,5 game points). WGM Irina Bulmaga and WGM Alina L’Ami from the winning team finished the competition with great results (8 game points each/9 rounds).
