Where are their top players?
What’s the point of publishing such a map? This is ridiculous. In the context of a Chess Blog, one better publish maps with updated and internationally recognized borders. For lessons in history, there are other venues. Right?
Kars and Ardahan were part of Imperial Russia during late 19th century, however, since the Treaty of Kars, signed in 1921, are definitly part of Turkey.
Anos, why don’t you post a better map instead of whining.
Beggars like you who use this blog do not have the right to bitch and moan.
Show us the money and the correct map.
http://maps.nationmaster.com/ is one credible source.
The maps are sorted alphabetically by country name, so you just need to look under Georgia.
No begging, bitching and moaning is envolved. OK?
Sure the publishing of the map like this in chess context of 2009 Georgian Chess Championship is a clear provocation.
The top Georgian players are outside of Georgia, like Izoria and Kachieshvili in New York or Azmaiparashvili in Singapore.
What is this map with the border of 1921. I hope it’s error and hope change the map rapidly
