      Open Forum, Saturday

It’s Saturday Open Forum. Corus is winding down with the last round taking place tomorrow. Anything can happen! Aronian, Radjabov, Carlsen, Anand, Kramnik, Adams and Ivanchuk are all still in it.

Gibraltar Chess Festival just started. So far, the most notable results came from Stefanova defeating GMs M. Gurevich, Petrosian and Akobian.

What would you like to discuss? It’s Saturday Open Forum!

On a side note, I have been asked countless times about how I choose the content for my blog. For those of you who are new to this blog, the answer is simple. I blog about topics that are of interest to me. It can be anything from chess news, chess promotion, chess arts, chess pictures, chess poetry, chess essays, basketball, football, baseball, golf, soccer, tennis, figure skating, movies, music, science, technology, business, history, finance, life to human interest stories and much more. Chess players do not have to be one dimensional, mean spirited or anti-social.

I love the interaction with other people from over 100 countries right here. If you have stories or various items from your part of the world which you would like to share with your fellow bloggers, please feel free to send it to SusanPolgar@aol.com or add it in the comment section. As I stated when I started this blog, this is for all of you in the chess community.

I also have a few other chess blogs and forum. Here is a small list:

      BRAND NEW Chess Discussion Forum
      US Chess Discussion Blog
      SPICE Chess Blog
      Susan Polgar Chess Pictures

The last entry in the SPICE Chess Blog is for the 4th December.
Is SPICE not doing anything at the moment? Research? Teaching? Training?

Didn’t know you had a US Chess Discussion Blog: wow!

Will you sue Goichberg and company for defamation and libel?

Thank you for standing up to Goichberg and his helpers. Keep up the good fight. You have our support.

I continue to support Susan and Paul in this issue. I believe Susan and Paul are the best to lead the USCF to a better future. I agree that we must get rid of the old rot in the USCF. Of course Bill G could see the landslide victory but he holds on to the control votes in the EB. Thus he and the others must get rid of Susan and Paul before the next election when more votes will come in to give Susan the ability to make good changes in the USCF.

This is all about maintaining control over the USCF money with a new honest person coming in to fix things. They do not want it fixed. They want to keep the money flowing into their pockets.

Keep hanging in there Susan. The road is rough and the ride is bumpy but hopefully for all of us members you will succeed. There are many thousands of silent voices out there supporting you. But they get shouted down when they try to speak. But we maintain our loyalty.

        Susan Hi,

In your opinion, what is the reason for Gelfand’s such a bad shape?

Anon 10:43, I cannot discuss it due to the current legal situation. It will depend on his action and conduct.

YEVLEV, anyone is entitled to a bad tournament, especially Gelfand who has been very consistent throughout his career.

        Best wishes,
        Susan Polgar

        Susan,

You are an inspiration to chess players around the world. Your example of standing up to big bullies gives me strength to handle my own bullies in my own life! You are a wonderful teacher and leader! Please be well and continue your good work!

They are doing researchon finding the cure for crazy chess stalkers.
So far the only solution has been high velocity lead projectiles. Now go and cry to momma Marcus Roberts that your life has been threatened by a few anonymous paragraphs on the internet.

        Loser.

Why would anyone respond so violently, especially a casual reader of this blog, to a straight question about the activities of SPICE?

Perhaps Dr. Karlsson still reads this blog, and can answer – preferably with authenticity on a TTU site referred to here.

Dear anon 5:40. The answer is obvious. People who are truly interested do not pry into the life of GM Polgar or her work at TTU. GM Polgar informs the whole world of her work through this blog and perhaps others. Because another blog isn’t “up to date” doesn’t mean work isn’t being done.

I am tired of ill mannered chess personailities showing up here to make a mockery of GM Polgars work.

Since I am equally capable of being ill mannered I think it is fitting ill mannered people have a taste of their own medicine.

If you want to learn more about SPICE, then go to the website. If you are not happy with its content, well that is just too bad. You have to wait just like the rest of us for updates. I am just tired of the insinuations, the half-hearted inqueries, and the outright deceptions of some who post in here. GM Polgar desrves only praise for her work, not attacks from net losers.

I’m most disappointed with Jim Berry. I voted for him for the purpose of helping chess. He turned out to be William Goichberg’s puppet. Once again, the EB has squandered so much money from the members. They should step down immediately to save this federation.

Susan points to her SPICE blog, so I go to it. I find that it’s last entry [then] was 4th December.
I wonder why that is. This blog has “posted by Susan Polgar” all over it, and Paul is by reputation an active web contributor (but not apparently here).
Even more, I wonder why Susan would highlight a blog of hers that has been dormant for over 6 weeks.
So I ask – and am rather surprised by the virulent reaction, a reaction I would not expect from a third party.

Anyway, I must have done some good. My comment was at 9.31 and by 10.46, Susan’s Washington trip had been rebranded as ‘SPICE Outreach’ on the SPICE website. Points for energy, Paul.

Are there any guidelines published anywhere as to what chess-activity by others the Susan Polgar Foundation supports, what activities it has supported, and how to apply for SPF funding?

This third party doesn’t like you.

Your sarcastic demeanor is not welcome.
