I would like to see Ivanchuk in the WC.

The Polgar Campaign is in deep trouble!

Only 3500 ballots have been received so far. That means that the vote total is running about the same as last year when Sam Sloan got elected.

Unless new people jump in and vote, then the same people will be voting as last year. That’s why a low turnout election bodes ill for the Polgar Campaign.

Why do you bother running for the EB? Drop out, get lost and go away. No one wants to see a Hungarian in charge of a US organization. Why don’t you throw your support for Don Schultz, Joe Lux, Stephen Jones and Jim Berry? These are the best people to run the USCF and they have the full endorsement of Bill Goichberg.

Just in case people misunderstood the above post, here is what I’m trying to say:

NOW IS THE TIME TO VOTE!!

Susan received thousands of e-mails of support last December and January. Those mean nothing unless they’re converted into BALLOTS! If you planned on voting for Susan and her team,

        YOU MUST VOTE NOW!!

Susan, when elected to the USCF board, will you consider using your position to influence the US government to drop charges against Bobby Fischer and allow him to come home?

The New Jersey Futurity International starts today in Parsippany. 4 GMs, 3 IMs, 1 FM, and 2 NMs square off in a 10 player round robin that runs from July 7 to 11.

Details can be found here at the

What is Sofia Polgar thinking about chess education that she received from her father. Because she is the one who stop to play higher chess.

Or what she thinks about her sibling rivalry? Does she envy both of you (Susan and Judith)?

Was she felt that those years were useless? Or is there any benefit or influence that she recieved?

Please answer if you know the answer, Susan. If not, just ask her someday.

Thank you for everything you do for chess. Sorry for the few jerks who are out there.

        Hi Susan,

I really enjoyed the photos and posts that were done about your recent tour/trip to Hungary. I had no idea Budapest was so beautiful. I would like to see it myself some day, preferably on the arm of my significant other 🙂 It was great to see you and the other Polgar sisters together again playing chess – you all looked fabulous (of course!)

I’m going to echo Jack LeMoine’s request that people who have not yet voted in the USCF Executive Board election please do so as soon as possible, and vote for Susan Polgar and the candidates that she has recommended.

Well I voted a long long time ago. I got my ballot back into the mail immediately at the post office to make sure it went out good.

I voted for Susan, Paul, Mikhail, and Randy.

I want all 4 of you to know I am proud of you. You are the best candidates and if any of you should not be elected, please come back and run next time. All of us out here will just have to work harder to get you elected. If you are not elected it was not your fault. It was our fault for either ( horrible thought ) not voting at all. Makes me shutter. Or we just did not work hard enough talking to all our friends and telling them the story so they would be better informed voters.

Jack, I do not think the campaign is in deep trouble. We are only one vote shy of winning. And if anyone out there has not voted yet. Then it is your vote the world is waiting for. Please I beg you get out and vote today. Make sure you get it into the mail. Every vote counts as one whether you mailed it early like me or are now putting it into the mail. The votes are all equal and we need you on the team.

People talk about donating money to chess. but I want to say that right now your vote is 100 times well 1000 times more important than money today. Your vote is priceless. Please help chess in America. vote for Susan and her Team.

        Susan, Paul, Mikhail, Randy.

fill it out slowly so as not to make a mistake and double check each vote.

        Thank you

Trust is trust, if a person loses that trust it is lost, to deceive those that have put trust in you out weighs anything you could do. I have had good employees, hard workers, for the most part did a good job, but once they failed to be honest with me I fired them. Bottom line if a person is less than honest about the little things, gauranteed they will be less than honest about the larger things. It is called a lack of character. Now I realize that in this world today it is not popular to hold a person accountable. but then look at our world today! A drunk is an alcololic, a thief is suffering from kleptomania, A child molester has a mania, A murderer is a psychopath , nobody is responsible for what they do. When considering negatives one must consider honesty as uncompromising. This is why everyone should support the team of Don Schultz, Joe Lux, Stephen Jones and Jim Berry which is recommended by Bill Goichberg. We need real men running the USCF. We don’t need any foreigner in charge. Oklahoma will vote 80% this year Only 25% will vote for Polgar. She is not that popular in Oklahoma that I can tell at this point.

Regarding the comment about Fischer…the U.S. is not his “home” any longer. He, of his own volition, his own free will, chose Iceland as his new home and country.

He does not wish to return and even if he did, he is apparently quite unstable and, outside of the chess arena, would he be able to cope with his own prejudices in a country is as diverse as the U.S?

Fischer is a great Chess genius. Yet, he needs treatment and it is sad.

But, again, America is not his home…by choice..that, too, is sad.

        To all of Susan’s supporters.

Let’s stay focused in bringing in the votes. If you know of any eligible USCF voting member who has not submitted their ballot, kindly remind them to VOTE. If they need help with a stamp or a trip to the post office, please help them out. Every vote is precious. You can make the difference.

Please don’t take it for granted that Susan’s team will waltz right into the EB seats. She needs our help. She needs our votes. Her team needs our votes.

GM Susan Polgar has been a great ambassador for chess. Surely we can make our last efforts in the next few days to help her out.

Contact your network of people and see if they have voted.

Thank you for your kind attention.

        Anonymous 2:49 pm :

You’re weaselly begging for censorship, you’re writing yourself
        into submission.

        You’re pathetic and dumb.

Maybe the now removed opinions were
were unreasonable or even dumb, but at least they were not begging
        for the “eviction” of opinions
other than theirs or different from mainstream.

You would be a good “patriot” in a
        totalitarian regime.

In the eleven months since I took office office on the board in August 2006, I have had to endure in relative silence false and misleading statement after false and misleading statement by Bill Goichberg. However, this one goes too far.

The so-called “Retreat” to Florida in May 2006, just three months before I took office, was not a mere board meeting. It was an all expenses paid trip to Florida by the entire USCF-insider group, all paid for with YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES !!!

Here is a photo of participants in the retreat:

        http://www.chessdon.com/pictures.htm

Standing: Jon Haskel President Florida Chess Association; Beatriz Marinello Former President USCF; Tim Redman Former President USCF representing

        college chess; Rourke O’Brien President AF4C; Steve Shutt Co-Chair Scholastic Council; Joel Berez President ICC; Harold Winston Chairman US Chess Trust;

        Mike Nolan USCF Data Base Consultant; Casey Steinbacher Retreat Facilator; Mikhail Korenman Exec Director Chess for Peace Foundation;

Michael Khodarkovsky, President Kasparov Chess Foundation; Robert Tanner USCF Secretary; Seated: Bill Hall, USCF Executive Director; Don Schultz,

Vice Pres. USCF; Joel Channing USCF VP Finance; Joel Benjamin, former US Chess Champion; Dan Lucas, Editor Chess Life; Bill Goichberg, USCF President

Missing: Jerry Hanken, President CJA and GIL Luna, Hall of Fame

Quite an impressive group. Remember that everybody in that picture is spending your dues money, flying to Florida and staying in hotels at YOUR EXPENSE !!!

Then, Bill Goichberg goes on to say:

“Channing, Schultz nor Goichberg claimed any airfare expense (I have claimed no travel expense for any travel as President).”

However, what about all the other people in the picture? True, Schultz and Channing did not claim any airfare expense since they live in Florida and did not need to fly.

What many people do not realize about Bill Goichberg is that he plays the horses and flies around the country not only to organize chess tournaments but also to go to various race tracks during horse racing season. This retreat was scheduled to be held when Bill Goichberg was in Florida anyway attending the race track, and thus he was not really giving the USCF a break by not charging the USCF any airfare.

I make no predictions about the forthcoming election. Any of the candidates have a chance to win, in my view. However, I am almost certain that regardless of who wins, Bill Goichberg will not be given another two years as USCF President. He has not done a good job and somebody else, almost anybody else, should be given the chance.

        Sam Sloan
