Topalov has been taking a lot of chances in Linares and it has been paying off big time, so far. He is +3 and is leading the tournament by 1.5 points. He has also regained the #1 spot on the LIVE rating list. But there are still 4 more rounds to go.

Topalov will face Gashimov with Black in round 7 today, Aronian with White in round 8, Grischuk with Black in round 9, and Gelfand with White in round 10. Anything can still happen.

Vachier-Lagrave won the World Blitz Chess Championship Preliminaries. By winning this event, he earned a berth in the 2011 World Blitz Championship. Bu, Mamedov, Grachev, Savchenko and Nepomniachtchi also qualified.

It’s Saturday Open Forum. The forum is yours. What would you like to discuss?

Topalov plays very risky opening variations. Anand in good shape will beat him easy if he continues with those risky opening variations. In match play Topalov needs to show more patience in the games. Then everything can happen…
