Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I was very happy when you placed your blog comments in moderation because I felt it was safe for my kids to come and read here. Their has been alot of sexism, racism and outright hatred in the comments section. I even told my kids it was safe to comeback. Then I saw you lifted the moderation off, maybe it was due because you did not get as many comments in your site but believe, people were reading you.
You are a role model to kids and they naturally want to come here and read what you have to say because you market yourself to plenty of kids.
I would ask that you place the moderation back so that your people may read what is being said and filter the inapproprate comments.
Its just a comment. However this is your site and you can do as ou see fit, but you do market to kids and during the last month at the dinner table I was asked about sexism comments about how all women had to look like Ms. Lubbock, who was Sam Sloan, and why were people being mean to you.
Of course as parents we are responsible of what are kids can read, but surely this blog should be a safe place for our kids to be just like it is when they see you at the tournaments.
Consider my comments.
thanks 🙂
I agree. Thank you for your suggestion. When one of the moderators is able to monitor the blog, moderation will be done manually. When we are not able to do that, it will be done through a moderation process.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
Could you let us know how the kids who go to Texas Tech on SPICE scholarships do? I know that most won’t go into chess professionally but suspect most will do well.
I like SPICE!
SPICE is NICE!
Say it TWICE!
Congratulations on your SERVING a delicious dish in Dallas.
I hear that you are video taping a nice dish of justice at the EB meeting.
I hope Goichi and the rest of those bums enjoy your special dish!
Have a NICE day!
I motion to do away with the annoying pre-title “super” when referring to our finest GM’s. How about “Grandmaster Elite” or “Senior Grandmaster” or just plain “Ninja”. It pains me to hear such a dull adjective used to describe the games’ best.
Who else is shaken by the Russia/Georgia conflict? Bad news when Russia goes to war, and this whole annexation issue is at the core of international politics today. Scary stuff…
I think you should explain to your kids that the world is full of idiots and that they are going to have to deal with them many many times during their life.
How will they learn to deal with such people if you shield them off now? You can’t do it anyway.
“Who else is shaken by the Russia/Georgia conflict?”
I’m not. Russian soldiers are a joke. They were beaten by a rag-tag bunch of camel-jockeys in Afganistan in the 80’s. Russian soldiers are barely fed and paid virtually nothing in mother Russia. I tell you provide a Russian soldier a meal and vodka and he will be loyal to you and his own stomach. Garry Kasparov should have used this tactic to win the presidency.
In other news, Georgia shot down their 10th Russian airplane.
Georgia 10
Russia 0
Go Georgia!
Also, a shipment of nuclear missles were intercepted on their way to Cuba. Russia has not claimed them yet.
I guess it is time for WW3 kiddos!
On something a little more relevant to chess I have been following some comments on the recent Rybka v Dzindi match.
A bit pointless if you ask me, we all know now that a good program will defeat any GM, why hammer it into the ground?
What I want to see is a program that can imitate a human player (mistakes and all) at say 1800-2000 level. Now that would be really interesting. I know you can set certain programs to function at lower levels but they don’t do it very well they just give away material and then play like a GM for the rest of game or else play like a complete beginner.
As a matter of interest Susan is it true that you are currently working on a new DVD on the Fench Defense (?). Enjoyed the once on the Colle-Zukertort, it was very professionally done.
“…is it true that you are currently working on a new DVD on the Fench Defense (?).”
Is that similar to the Finch Fianchetto a.k.a. French Tongue of Doom???
Georgia CLAIMS to have shot down 10th Russian plane. Big difference.
“I’m not. Russian soldiers are a joke. They were beaten by a rag-tag bunch of camel-jockeys in Afganistan in the 80’s.”
Camel jockeys armed and funded by the USA. They would not have lasted very long otherwise.
US troops are not doing so well in Afghanistan either. It is one thing to occupy and stay safe in bases, it is another to control such a big country. Why is Afghan drug production at highest levels ever if US is in control?
Got to add ur picture on my wall.. girl u are hot!!!
