        As I mentioned earlier:
The only reason why they couldn’t transfer the funds in today’s world with today’s technology is

        because THERE IS NO MONEY.

Why did someone bid 5 times more than Sofia, Bulgaria? If the guy likes Kamsky, he could have given the money to him directly.

If Silvio Danailov says he knows the market and nobody would give $1mil for this type of match, then nobody would give $1mil for this type of match. People can say whatever they want for him, but he KNOWS the market and is a GOOD chess manager.

How is this Kirsan’s or FIDE’s fault?

The only mistake they made is that they have given in to Kamsky’s (and his representatives) demands. Extending the deadline to April was reasonable, but then they should have just pull the plug. But they were propbably afraid that Kamsky will just refuse to play in Bulgaria, like he/his representatives threatened to. And then I guess the same people would jump and blame FIDE and Kirsan again. Read about the whole correspondence at

        http://www.chessarrabal.blogspot.com/

and you will see that every reasonable request by Kamsky’s team was met. It’s obvious that here is no money, so FIDE should just award the match to the only serious bidder – Bulgaria. And if Kamsky refuses, thats his problem. shirov should take his place then.

I agree with all the postings here. It is time that Fide accepts the offer already in the table. If Kamsky will not play in Bulgaria…..then simple, he forfeits and Shirov takes his place. Kamsky does not have a chance against Topalov anyway.

I disagree. I believe that Kamsky has an excellent chance against Topalov. Actually it is not fair that Topalov gets a free ride into the final. He did nothing to be the challenger to Kamsky who won the right to play.

I would be more happy with Chucky or Carlsen then with Topalov getting a free ride.

It’s your own time you’re wasting.

I completely agree, Topy has been given all sorts of free perks even though he has done nothing to be distinguished from any of the other top GMs. He should adopt Kamsky’s attitude when he was told by an ICC player after the candidates, “Hey, Gata, you should be there in Mexico.” Gata replied, “Dude, I lost!” Topy would do well to learn such objectivity.

It would be disgraceful if Gata were forfeited and replaced by Shirov. I wouldn’t want to play in Bulgaria if I were he. Bulgaria is Topy’s home turf, and I imagine they’d make things pretty nasty for the visiting team.
