      March 11, 2008, Keene, NH – Grandmaster Eugene Perelshteyn will play against 25 of the regions best chess players simultaneously at Papagallo’s Restaurant on Sunday, April 5, 2009.

      GM Eugene Perelshteyn is currently ranked 17th in the United States with a US Chess Federation rating of 2601. At only 29 years of age, this Boston area Grandmaster is truly one of the rising stars in the chess world. Past titles include 2000 US Junior Champion, 2003 Generation Chess Closed Champion, 2006 Foxwoods Open co-champion, 2006 Atlantic Open Champion, and 2007 Spice Cup Invitational Champion.

      Originally from Zhitomir, Ukraine, Eugene is a 2002 graduate of University of Maryland where he captained the UMBC chess team to 5 National Championships.

      Eugene is also the co-author of two well received books Chess Openings for White, Explained and Chess Openings for Black, Explained. Autographed copies of these books will be available at the Exhibition.

      Spectators are welcome. Limited seats are still available for interested players.
