      The 2008 Acropolis Open drew 84 chessplayers from 22 countries. GMs Smirin and Parligras tied for 1st, with Smirin taking the title on tie-breaks.

        He won the Acropolis? I wonder how much it will cost him to ship it home.

        Susan, you should mention that Dzaganidze gained a male GM norm. That is a big sucess for women player’s isn’t it?

        btw, I have seen many people winning the whole city of Linares, so why not Acropolis as well 🙂

        The Greekers must be in rage for letting all the money from Greek taxpayers go to foreigners. Problem with Greeks is that they do not know how to cheat in chess.
