      Sochi to host Russian Individual and Team Rapid & Blitz Championships

      Russia, Sochi

      The Russian Individual and Team Rapid & Blitz Championships among men and women will take place from September 29 (arrival) to October 6 (departure) 2017 in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi.

      Individual Championships will be held from September 29 (arrival) till October 3 (departure). The tournaments will be played according to the Swiss system: 11 rounds of rapid and 10 double rounds of blitz.

      Prize fund:

      Rapid: Men – 840,000 RUR. Women – 460,000 RUR.

      Blitz: Men – 420,000 RUR. Women – 280,000 RUR.

      Team Championships will take place on October 2-6. The tournaments will also be played according to the Swiss system: 9 rounds of rapid and 15 rounds of blitz.

      Team composition: 7 persons (4 players, 1 reserve, 1 coach, 1 representative). One person may combine the functions of a coach and a representative.

      Prize fund:

      Rapid: Men – 710,000 RUR. Women – 340,000 RUR.

      Blitz: Men – 510,000 RUR. Women – 260,000 RUR.
